First let me thank everyone who participated in my first puzzle for Geekdad. I had fun putting it together and I had fun reading your answers. I admit there were some ambiguities especially the Space Ship transforming into a Space Station, so if you attempted the puzzle I threw your name in the hat. After taking the average of 1 million 20 sided dice, thrown by 1 million monkeys on Red Bull the winner of this weeks $50.00 Thinkgeek Gift Certificate is Gregory Vaughn!
Puzzle:
Ken, Matt, Dave, and Curtis got their kids together for a play date. The dads dressed their kids in their finest geek t-shirts. The kids brought along their favorite building toys and had a great time building different things.
1. Ken and his boy Anakin, who was not wearing the “Child Process” shirt did not bring Tinker Toys. The child with the LED shirt made a DNA Molecule.
2. Ender whose dad was not Matt wasn’t wearing the Superman shirt and did not build a submarine. Curtis’s Child did not own a “Han Shot First Shirt” and decided to leave his LEGO’s home.
3. Dave thought the moon rover had more parts than his child’s design but his child’s shirt had more stains than the Superman Shirt that Matt put on his little one.
4. Neither little Issac or Anakin built the moon rover or the space station . Dave did not put the “Hahn Shot First” shirt on his kid but he did pack the Erector Set.
5. The child that built the space ship, who was not Curtis’s wore the “Child Process” shirt.
6. Coraline whose whose dad was not Curtis, brought Capsela but didn’t build a submarine.
Solution:
Most people solved this puzzle using the tried and true Logic Grid Matrix. Here’s mine with the correct answer.
Curtis brought Isaac in an LED shirt who built a DNA molecule out of Tinker Toys
Dave brought Ender in a “Child Process” shirt who built the space ship/station with his Erector set
Ken brought Anakin wearing, appropriately enough, a “Han Shot First” shirt. Anakin built a submarine out of LEGO
Matt brought Coraline in a Superman shirt. She built a Moon Rover with her Capsela.
Tune in next week as the other Dave, Dave Banks, treats your brain to a another workout.
