Best of the Geek Decade -Websites
Here is where the best-of-the-decade rule became a little problematic. Websites are ever-evolving with new content all the time. So this time, we merely asked our kids where they liked to go the most.
Several sites associated with toys were popular, though not all. When I asked my younger son about Webkinz, he said the stuffed […] Continue reading
Best of the Geek Decade – Television
Remember: children have short memories, especially for television, so there may be more new shows than shows that were a hit five or ten years ago.
On the other hand, our DVR and Netflix have come in handy in my house and a number of shows missed on first run were found when they were older, […] Continue reading
Best of the Geek Decade – Comics
While the big superhero publishers, DC and Marvel, are represented on the list, independent publishers also scored big with imaginative comics like Bone and Owly.

Today’s spotlight is on Caliber. I received the trade paperback as part of a review packet that Radical Publishing sent out, as Geek Dad Jonathan detailed last week.
Summary:
Caliber revisits the myth of King Arthur, this time setting it in the American West, specifically the Pacific Northwest.
Arthur is the one chosen to […] Continue reading
Comic Spotlight On: Honor Brigade
Happy Comic Release Day!
I’ve been reviewing comics here and there since I started writing for Geek Dad but I thought it was time to organize them a bit more efficiently. So once a week, on comic release day, I’ll be spotlighting a comic. The comics will range from books published by the big two, large […] Continue reading
It’s Not Too Early to Think Summer Camp For Geek Kids
As my family heads into the holiday season, I’m faced with creating a plan that will not only keep the four of them busy but, siblings being what they are, keeping them busy enough not to drive each other crazy.
And the holiday plan reminds me that it’s just half a year again to the summer […] Continue reading
